Meet Our Team

Louise Greenhalgh EDH, Emily Rawson EDH and Mary Nicholl EDH are dental therapists who work closely with the rest of the team to ensure that patients have excellent hygiene services. Louise is also registered to accept direct access patients who want to see the hygienist only. You may access this service whether or not you are a patient of the practice.

Suzanne King

Suzanne qualified from Sheffield University Dental School in 1998. Since then she has worked mainly in general dental practice but has also worked for the community dental service treating children and adults with special needs. She also worked for Bolton Emergency Dental Service for 18 years helping patients with acute dental conditions including abscesses, severe toothache and traumatic injuries.

After gaining a teaching qualification from UCLAN in 2013 Suzanne became an Educational Supervisor, mentoring a series of newly qualified dentists within general practice. This was a role she found extremely rewarding and enjoyable.
Suzanne enjoys all aspects of dentistry and has a reputation for being gentle with patients, particularly those who are anxious about having treatment.

Colin Cromie

Colin Cromie BDS BSc (hons) qualified in 1989/1990 from manchester medical and dental school.

Colin has held several professional committee positions over the years including British Dental Association Ribble section secretary, and chairman of the East Lancashire Local Dental Committee.

Colin served in the Royal Army Dental Corps for 9 years attaining the rank of Major. He continues to further his education having completed a UCLAN teaching certificate in 2013, and is continuing his orthodontic education this year to enhance his practice at the surgery. Colin is an associate member of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners and remains a member of the British Dental Association.

Colin is a keen photographer and makes use of his skills in the surgery, taking many clinical photographs. Other past times include flying fixed wing and rotary aircraft. Colin loves the cinema and goes most weekends. He especially likes to see Sci-Fi and Action movies. He does have a weak spot like many guys for gadgets.

Chris Gower

Clinical Dental Technicians (CDTs) are not dentists but are skilled practitioners who work in parallel with local dental practices to deliver specialist services to clients including the fitting of dentures.

Equipped with solid technical training as a Dental Technician and post-technician training in sciences, clinical skills and interpersonal skills the CDTs can design, create, construct, repair, and modify removable appliances to ensure optimal fit, maximum comfort and general well-being of patients.

After working as a dental nurse for 10 years, Louise qualified from Liverpool Dental school in 2007 as a Hygienist/Therapist and has worked with Petre Dental since we opened in December 2008.

Louise is qualified in tooth whitening and is registered to accept direct access patients who want to see the hygienist only. You may access this service whether or not you are a patient of the practice.

Louise lives in Rawtenstall with her partner Simon and 4 cats. She is a keen house renovator and on weekends she joins the rest of the team in Karaoke with renditions of hey big spender.

Emily Ferguson

Emily trained and worked as a dental nurse for 10 years before deciding to retrain and become a Dental Therapist.

Emily qualified as a dental hygienist/therapist from Liverpool dental school in 2007 and joined Petre Dental in 2009.

Emily has a special interest in Oral Surgery and implants and is involved in implant reviews at Petre Dental. Outside of work, Emily enjoys socialising with friends and family and takes part in many activities such as swimming, walking and reading.

Mary Nicholl

Mary Nicholl has worked in dentistry since 1989 as a dental nurse and progressed to become a dental Therapist/Hygienist in 2009 from Liverpool University.

Mary has a diploma in nutrition and often incorporates this advise as part of her oral hygiene care.

She is passionate about an holistic approach to health and well being. Mary has extended her skills in offering facial aesthetic treatments. She will soon be offering plasma treatments in the very near future.
